Muscat: With more than 13,000 runners from 60 countries, the event brought together professional athletes, amateurs, and families for a thrilling two-day celebration of endurance and sportsmanship.
The marathon officially kicked off on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Al Mouj Muscat, under the patronage of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT). The event not only showcased Oman’s growing reputation as a global sporting destination but also highlighted its breathtaking landscapes.
Day one saw intense competition across three major categories:
42 km full marathon
21 km half marathon
10 km race
At the end of the first day, His Excellency, Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mahroqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism awarded prizes to the winners in an exciting closing ceremony.

On the second day, the event focused on inclusivity and community engagement with a 5 km race, children’s races, and a 2.5 km fun run, offering a joyful experience for families and individuals of all abilities.
