MUSCAT : According to the Ministry’s guidelines, Omani workers in the private sector are eligible for a three percent increase on their basic salary, which is due annually on January 1.
The Ministry stated that Omani employees are entitled to this bonus under specific conditions outlined in the Labour Law and related ministerial decisions.
To qualify for the periodic bonus, Omani employees must meet the following criteria:
- The worker’s service period with the employer must be no less than six months.
- The worker must not receive a ‘weak’ rating in their annual performance report.
The Ministry further clarified that workers have the right to review their annual performance reports and file grievances if they disagree with the rating, under the complaints and grievances system.
