Muscat – The South Al Batinah Governorate has revealed four promising investment opportunities aimed at boosting tourism and enhancing economic growth in the region. The initiatives are centered around the development of the Al Abyad Sands area in Khabat Al Qadan, located in the Wilayat of Nakhal. The projects are part of the governorate’s broader strategy to attract visitors and create vibrant economic zones.

One of the most ambitious projects is the ‘Rimal Park’ project, designed to transform the Al Abyad Sands area into an integrated tourist destination. His Excellency Eng. Masoud bin Saeed Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah, highlighted the significance of the ‘Rimal Park’ project, which is set to utilise the natural landscape of Khabat Al Qadaán and turn it into a premier tourist spot. Its strategic location near the expressway linking Muscat and North Al Batinah adds to its potential as a key attraction for both local and international visitors.

Spanning a total area of 225,000 square meters, the project will include various recreational, educational, and social facilities. Among the highlights are a 24,814 square-meter recreational area featuring bridges, giant slides, and other physical attractions, alongside an educational corner and a creative ‘village’ space. The project also includes an open cinema area covering approximately 7,806 square meters, with seating for around 2,000 people, offering a unique entertainment experience for guests.

Further enhancing its appeal, the development will feature a camping area, an equestrian school, and a variety of commercial activities designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises. The Governor emphasized that these projects are poised to position the Al Abyad Sands area as a leading environmental tourism destination, fostering sustainable growth in the region while offering diverse experiences for tourists.
