MUSCAT : His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, held talks today with Carl Sacco, Deputy Executive Director-General and Director of Operations at the World Food Programme (WFP).
During the meeting, both sides explored ways to strengthen the partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the UN food assistance agency. Carl Sacco commended Oman’s active involvement in regional affairs and acknowledged its vital support in delivering aid to nations afflicted by conflict and war. His Excellency the Sheikh conveyed his appreciation for the WFP’s efforts in aiding vulnerable populations in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration to ensure life-saving assistance reaches those in need.
Also in attendance were HE Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Qatabi, Head of the International Organizations Department, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Wardat, Director of Government Partnerships and Director of the WFP Program in Lebanon.
