MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality on Wednesday issued an explanation regarding the delay in the AI-Ghubra Bridge expansion project.
In a statement issued, the Municipality said the project is part of the expansion works for Oman Avenues Mall (Phase 2) and is being executed by the project developer.
“As with any major infrastructure project being implemented in the city centre – a location that includes several essential facilities and key services- certain challenges have been faced necessitating a temporary pause in the construction works to assess viable solutions which has, naturally, taken some time especially so since some of the works are executed outside the Sultanate.”

“Muscat Municipality continues to work closely with the developer to evaluate feasible alternative solutions. Once an agreement is reached, construction works will resume in a manner that ensures both structural integrity and traffic safety,” the statement added.
