Muscat – According to statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, a total of 203,629 tourists visited the popular destination last year, showcasing the area’s growing appeal as a top tourist spot.
The breakdown of visitors revealed that 96,856 of the visitors were Omani citizens. Internationally, the Wilayat saw significant interest from neighbouring Gulf countries, with 12,007 Saudi tourists, 1,175 Emirati visitors, 612 Bahraini nationals, 1,083 Kuwaiti tourists, and 653 from Qatar. Tourists from other Arab nations numbered 7,734, while foreign visitors accounted for a substantial 83,509 of the total.
Jabal Al Akhdar, known for its mild climate during the summer and chilly winters, is renowned as a prime destination for eco-tourism and adventure tourism in Oman. Visitors are drawn to the region for its natural beauty, including its valleys, caves, and mountain-climbing opportunities, offering a unique experience that blends outdoor adventure with the chance to immerse in the local culture.
