MUSCAT : The ceremony was held under the auspices of His Excellency Sayyid Mohammed Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, and attended by Attorney General His Excellency Nasr Khamis Al Sowa’ee.
The oath taking process was in implementation of the text of Article 11 of the Public Prosecution Law, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 92/99 that outlines procedures regulating the public prosecutors’ induction into the judicial system and the officials’ assuming their mandate to apply the laws with full justice and impartiality.

During the ceremony, His Excellency emphasised the critical role of determination and diligence in serving justice. He urged the new members to adhere to judicial instructions, uphold the integrity of the Public Prosecution’s work, and respect the values, customs, and traditions of the judiciary. Furthermore, he encouraged continuous learning and professional development, noting that their behaviour should reflect the noble values tied to their mission.
It is noteworthy that completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Judicial Sciences programme at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary requires two academic years, based on Article (10) of the Public Prosecution Law.
The members of the “Development Batch” underwent in-depth theoretical courses in legal sciences, followed by practical training in the geographical and specialized Public Prosecution departments under the direct supervision and close follow-up of members of the Public Prosecution, which contributed to honing their skills and providing them with the necessary knowledge. This program also reinforced their judicial values, customs and traditions.
