Muscat – In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Health’s Department of Blood Bank Services is urging the public to actively participate in blood donation campaigns.
The Central Blood Bank in Bausher has emphasised the importance of maintaining a sufficient blood supply throughout the holy month, when the demand for blood often increases.
To address this, the Ministry is calling on volunteer teams and mosque groups in the wilayats of Seeb, Bausher, Muttrah, and Al Amerat to contribute to organising blood donation campaigns at public councils. The campaigns will be held from 8 pm to 11:30 pm, making it easier for donors to participate after Iftar.
“This initiative aims to facilitate the blood donation process and close the distance for blood donors in an effort to reach the largest possible number of donors during this holy month. To coordinate and participate in this initiative, please contact the Donor Affairs Department in the Blood Bank Services Department before Thursday, February 14, 2025, by phone (24591255 / 24594255) or via the WhatsApp at 94555648. Double your charity by donating blood,” states the DBBS appeal to donors.
