Muscat: Alizz Islamic Bank recently hosted His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Essam Khalf Al Enezi to conduct a lecture on ‘Islamic Banking Contracts: Between Shari’a and Law’ at the bank’s head office in Wilayat Bawshar with more than 80 attendees present.
The lecture was part of the ‘Manar Alizz’ initiative, which is the voice of the bank for cultural awareness about Islamic Banking and its principles. The programme aligns with the bank’s overall strategy of knowledge sharing. Alizz Islamic Bank continues to focus on developing and engaging employees and the public through interactive sessions on key topics of interest.
Speaking about the lecture Mr. Issa bin Salim Al Riyami, Head of Shari’a Compliance and Audit of Alizz Islamic Bank said “The lecture that was conducted today by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Essam Khalaf Al Enezi on ‘Islamic Banking Contracts” Between Shari’a & Law’ highlighted the importance of lawyers and Islamic scholars working closely together on Shari’a compliant contracts. His Eminence Sheikh Dr Essam Khalaf Al-Enezi is a faculty member of Shari’a and Islamic Studies at the University of Kuwait. He holds a PhD in Islamic Jurisprudence from the University of Jordan and a master’s degree in Islamic law from the University of Kuwait. Sheikh Dr. Al Enezi is a member of several prominent shari’a boards, such as the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOFI), Bahrain Islamic Bank and Dar Al-Istithmar. Sheikh Dr. Al Enezi is a regular speaker in conference and seminars focusing on Islamic finance and jurisprudence. He has also published several papers on topics related to Islamic banking and finance.
