MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Thursday congratulated Ahmed Al Sharaa on his appointment as Syria’s interim president, the official Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Syria’s new authorities announced Wednesday that al-Sharaa, who took power following Bashar al-Assad’s ouster last month, has been named interim president and tasked with forming a transitional legislature.
