MUSCAT : In a video message posted on the embassy’s X account, the Ambassador provided an update on the situation and assured the public that efforts are underway to address the issue.
H.E. Bokhari expressed hope that a resolution would be reached soon, reassuring that the embassy is actively working to resolve the matter.
In his address, the ambassador also emphasized the importance of Pakistani nationals coming to Oman with the correct type of visa and sticking to the work specified on the visa. “Many times, these visas are misused,” he noted, urging potential migrants to avoid using what is referred to as an ‘Azad’ visa – a term often misused in the context of unofficial work permits.
The ambassador further explained that if any disputes arise between sponsors and workers, they can be addressed in Omani courts. He urged Pakistanis considering working in Oman to familiarise themselves with the country’s laws before making the move. “The embassy is always here to help you,” he said, reaffirming the role of the embassy in assisting citizens and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
The statement comes as Oman continues to review its visa policies to ensure better regulation of foreign workers in the country.
