MUSCAT : As part of the banks ‘Alizz Cares’ program and the ‘Sports for All’ inititiave that strives to encourage sports and development in the community; Alizz Islamic Bank recently partnered with Sultan Qaboos University on the 10th Sports Tournament for Students of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the GCC.
The tournament, which lasted from the 18th to the 24th of January, included a range of sports, such as athletics, swimming, football, basketball (3×3), volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. More than 500 students from across the GCC universities and higher education institutions took part in the annual tournament. It served as an opportunity to enhance cooperation between educational and sports institutions on the one hand, and to strengthen fraternal ties between students in the Gulf countries while facilitating the exchange of experiences among them. Mr. Asaad Al Kharusi, Chief Operating Officer, Alizz Islamic Bank attended the closing ceremony, held at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, which was under the auspcies of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat and attended dignitaries, heads of delegation and representatives of participating universities.
