MUSCAT : The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has commenced the implementation of multiple road development projects in the Wilayats of Yanqul and Dhank in Al Dhahirah Governorate. Valued at RO 1,280,000, the upgrades are set to enhance connectivity and ease the flow of traffic across residential and service communities.
Eng. Mahmoud bin Saif Al Riyami, Director of the Roads Department in Al Dhahirah Governorate, stated that the projects include the expansion of the Al Suwadir Al Alou Road—spanning 5.5 kilometers—linking Yanqul Hospital to Al Buwairda Roundabout. This vital artery connects the Wilayat center with various villages and intersects both the road leading to Al Buraimi Governorate and the Yanqul–Sohar Road. Additionally, an extension project covers the road linking Yanqul Hospital and “Beit Al Marah” Fort, with a distance of one kilometer.
In the Wilayat of Dhank, the initiative includes expanding the shoulders in the town of Al Dhawihriya over 700 meters, as well as improving and widening the intersection of Falaj Al Sudairyin. According to Al Riyami, all works adhere to the latest road design guide specifications, ensuring sustainability and longevity.
