Muscat – In a statement issued, the Council welcomed the agreement, which it views as a critical step toward paving the way for a permanent ceasefire between the conflicting parties.

The Shura Council emphasized the importance of continuing both international and regional efforts to ensure the protection of the Palestinian people. The Council urged that the terms of the armistice be fully implemented on the ground, including all of its provisions and dimensions, to bring about lasting peace in the region.

Additionally, the Shura Council called on the global community, as well as humanitarian and relief organizations, to provide urgent support to the Palestinian people in Gaza. This support, the Council stressed, is crucial in alleviating their suffering and addressing their basic needs, ensuring a dignified life, and helping to restore social and economic stability to the Gaza Strip.

The statement also praised the resilience and heroism of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, for their unwavering defence of their rights and the rights of the broader Islamic nation. The Council extended its prayers for the protection and well-being of the Palestinian people and called for the swift restoration of peace, security, and safety in Palestine.

The Shura Council also expressed deep appreciation for the critical role played by both brotherly and friendly nations in facilitating this important agreement, which it believes will significantly reduce the human suffering in the Gaza Strip.
