Health Ministry opens Al Salam Health Complex in Muscat Governorate

The Ministry of Health celebrated the official opening of the Al Salam Health Complex in the Al Mabela South area, Wilayat of Seeb, in the Governorate of Muscat.

MUSCAT : The new health facility, which spans 15,000 square meters with a building area of 1,309 square meters, was constructed at a total cost of RO 650,000 and took 14 months to complete.

The opening ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency Eng. Badr bin Salem bin Marhoon Al Maamari, Secretary General of the Tender Board, who emphasised the importance of the complex in supporting the Sultanate’s health infrastructure.



The Al Salam Health Complex offers a wide range of healthcare services, including primary healthcare specialties such as chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, asthma), maternity care, family planning, and sterilization services. It also features secondary care services, including clinics for behavioural medicine, adult and child psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and psychological support. The complex also includes a laboratory, pharmacy, and 19 beds, which can be expanded to accommodate additional patients, with dedicated areas for men, women, maternity, postpartum, and observation.

In her speech, Dr. Samira bint Musa Al Maimani, Acting Director General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, highlighted the rapid development of the healthcare sector in Oman. She stressed that the opening of the Al Salam Health Complex is a significant step in ensuring world-class health services that meet the needs of both citizens and residents. The complex, she said, is also aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build a sustainable health system and improve the quality of life for the population.

The Al Salam Health Complex is designed to provide comprehensive and integrated medical services, meeting the healthcare needs of Seeb’s residents. The facility was developed in partnership with a local citizen and the Health Endowment Foundation (Athar) . It aims to ease the pressure on larger hospitals in the region by offering specialized clinics, modern laboratories, and pharmaceutical services.
