MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Saturday said governorates will be granted more powers to become economic centers that lead the country’s economic growth.
Addressing the nation on the occasion of Accession Day, His Majesty said: “While we commend the development projects and economic and social movement achieved in these governorates, we affirm our determination to continue granting the governorates more powers and support in various sectors to become economic centers that lead the country’s economic growth.”
“We have also established a comprehensive social protection system, which our government has begun to implement, and we have directed that its mechanisms and programs be reviewed from time to time so that everyone can enjoy a decent life and achieve the desired justice,” His Majesty said.
