Muscat – The Committee, in collaboration with the Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Shura Council, discussed initiatives to increase local participation in the private healthcare sector, with a focus on creating financial incentive packages for Omani-owned private health institutions that employ nationals. The goal is to support private sector growth while enhancing the role of Omanis in critical healthcare fields.
The discussion focused on 100 percent Omanisation of the pharmacy profession in private pharmacies and commercial complexes. The Committee explored strategies to ensure that all pharmacy-related roles are occupied by Omanis, reflecting the government’s commitment to increasing local employment in the healthcare sector.
The meeting also addressed various training and qualification programs designed to enhance the skills and competencies of Omani healthcare professionals. These initiatives aim to improve service delivery, ensure high-quality care, and support the professional development of Omani workers.
The Committee listened to feedback and suggestions from Shura Council members, who contributed their insights on the potential impact of these initiatives. Their input will be considered as the Committee moves forward with implementing policies to boost local employment in the healthcare sector.
