MUSCAT: Sohar International on Wednesday appointed Abdul Wahid Mohamed Al Murshidi as the Acting Chief Executive Officer.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Musalmi, who was previously the Chief Executive Officer at Sohar International, was appointed as the Governor of Central Bank of Oman with rank of Minister through a Royal Decree issued on Wednesday.
“In alignment with Sohar International’s commitment to nurturing leadership and the Bank’s established succession planning the Board has decided to appoint Mr. Abdul Wahid Mohamed Al Murshidi, currently serving as the Chief Islamic Banking Officer of the Bank’s Islamic window, as the acting Chief Executive Officer, subject to regulatory approvals,” Sohar International said in a statement on social media.
