MUSCAT : Of the total, RO 10 million was allocated for bills with a maturity period of 28 days. These bills saw an average acceptable price of RO 99.685 per 100 Omani riyals, with a discount rate of 4.10625% and a return of 4.11923%. Meanwhile, RO 25 million in treasury bills were allocated for a 91-day maturity period, with an average price of RO 98.900, a discount rate of 4.41209%, and a return of 4.46116%.
Treasury bills, short-term secured financial instruments issued by the Ministry of Finance, are managed by the Central Bank of Oman. They offer commercial banks quick liquidity through discounting and repurchase (repo) transactions with the Central Bank.
The current repo interest rate stands at 5.25%, while the discount rate with the Central Bank on treasury bill facilities is 5.75%.
