MUSCAT : Drawing over 190 participants from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, this event, organized by SQU in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, aims to bridge academic and executive efforts in advancing social care policies.

The conference, inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, spans two days and includes the presentation of 116 research papers across five key themes. His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, emphasized its focus on key sectors like children’s rights, elderly care, and services for persons with disabilities. Innovative strategies and interdisciplinary approaches aim to align these efforts with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

She reaffirmed SQU’s commitment to leveraging its resources and expertise to foster a knowledge-driven society aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

The conference features sessions such as “Innovation and Social Care: Approaches to Achieving Environmental Sustainability,” which delves into the role of social innovation in sustainable development. Workshops addressing children’s rights, elderly care, services for persons with disabilities, and women’s empowerment provide actionable insights and practical solutions to enhance social care policies.
