NIZWA : Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) proudly served as the Golden Sponsor of the 11th Edition of the Annual Research Forum, held on December 4, 2024, at the Oman Across the Ages Museum in Wilayat of Manah, Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah. The forum, themed “Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” brought together leading scientists, researchers, academics, decision-makers, and officials to explore the role of innovation in driving entrepreneurial success and fostering economic growth in the region.
Under the auspices of Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, the forum featured 274 participants competing for the prestigious National Research Award, with 167 participants in the senior categories and 107 emerging researchers. A total of 207 research papers were shortlisted for the final stage, highlighting the depth of talent and innovation present.
Her Excellency, Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, highlighted during the forum the focus on advancing a knowledge-based economy by enhancing the collaboration between research, innovation, and the economic sectors. She also announced the recent launch of the Programme to Support the Establishment and Operation of Innovation and Technology Transfer Centres at higher education institutions, which aims to assist innovators and entrepreneurs in converting research findings into successful commercial ventures.

During the forum, MCBS students showcased their startups and innovative projects, reflecting the college’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting the next generation of innovators. The forum also provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, where participants discussed integrating innovation across academic, governmental, and business sectors.
