Muscat – Beginning January 1, 2025, the Tax Authority will not accept any tax returns from auditors who are not registered in the system.
This registration is mandatory for all auditors practicing accounting and auditing in the Sultanate of Oman. To complete the registration, auditors must submit their professional license, issued by the Financial Services Authority, in compliance with the Income Tax Law No. 28/2009, Excise Tax Law No. 23/2019, and VAT Law No. 121/2020.
The Tax Authority emphasized that timely registration is crucial to ensure that audited accounts are accepted and that auditors can continue to fulfil their duties toward the Tax Authority without any interruptions.
