MUSCAT : As part of its efforts to attract foreign investments, build relationships, and enhance collaboration opportunities with local and global institutions and companies, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) organized the Business Forum 2024 on Tuesday, 26 November 2024. The event witnessed the participation of more than (45 companies) and aimed to discuss current and future projects, strategic investment opportunities, and areas for collaboration. The forum targeted major institutions, companies, suppliers, and consultants at both local and global levels to promote in-country value (ICV), support large enterprises and Omani industries, attract investments, and strengthen cooperative relationships with international organizations.
OETC organizes this forum annually to showcase available opportunities and ongoing and future projects, fostering a collaborative environment, studying market trends, exploring innovative solutions through projects, leveraging advanced technologies, and attracting investments. Additionally, the company organizes other activities and initiatives targeting Omani small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to support Omani entrepreneurs, empower emerging businesses, and enhance ICV.
Highlighting OETC’s commitment to continuous improvement, strategic relationship building, and attracting local and global investments, Eng. Hisham Abdullah Al Riyami, General Manager of Planning and Design Department at OETC, emphasized the company’s dedication to preparing clear and solid future plans that are aligned with national visions. He also pointed to the importance of collaboration with various entities to ensure smooth operations and accelerate progress toward the goals and aspirations.

It is worth mentioning that OETC, a member of Nama Group, is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity across the Sultanate’s network. Electricity is transmitted from power plants to distributed load centers in the governorates. The transmission network operates at a voltage of 132kV and above to cover all the governorates in the Sultanate. Furthermore, OETC manages the interconnection lines between Oman and the GCC interconnection network, which operates at a voltage of 220kV.
