MUSCAT : The event, held under the patronage of H.E. Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, aims to showcase Oman’s diverse tourism offerings to 185 Dutch travel companies.
This conference provides a platform for Omani tourism officials to promote the Sultanate as a prime tourist destination for the Dutch market, offering media and tourism companies an opportunity to explore Oman’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
The conference plays a key role in fostering ties between Omani and Dutch tourism companies, aiming to increase tourist inflow from the Netherlands to Oman. Delegates are given an in-depth overview of Oman’s diverse tourism offerings, from heritage sites and cultural experiences to adventure tourism. The event also includes visits to various governorates, allowing participants to discover Oman’s landmarks, including forts, castles, heritage markets, and scenic natural sites.
The Ministry highlighted that in 2023 Oman welcomed 18,164 Dutch tourists, with 11,341 visiting between January and September 2024. The goal of this conference is to further strengthen these numbers by enhancing cooperation and promoting Oman’s exceptional tourist products and experiences to the Netherlands market. ANVR, which includes over 300 travel companies and 1,500 travel agencies, serves as a significant national and international voice for the Dutch travel industry, further solidifying Oman’s position on the global tourism map.
