MUSCAT : The event, held at the Arab Open University, was graced by the patronage of H.E. Prof. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. It marks a significant milestone in Oman’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and talent development.

The Huawei ICT Competition is one of the most important programmes dedicated to nurturing the skills and abilities of students in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). First introduced in Oman seven years ago, the competition has grown rapidly, with over 45,000 university students from across the Sultanate having participated in previous editions.
The 2024-2025 edition of the competition will focus on key areas in modern technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, data storage, big data, data security, and wireless LAN technologies. These are vital fields that are transforming industries globally, and the competition aims to provide students with hands-on experience and cutting-edge knowledge to better prepare them for careers in tech.
The event also serves as a platform for enhancing communication and collaboration among talented youth across the Middle East, aligning with the competition’s slogan: ‘Communication, Glory, and the Future’. This theme reflects the program’s objective of connecting young innovators, enabling them to share ideas and build networks that transcend borders.
