MUSCAT : The latest electricity projects, aimed at boosting infrastructure and enhancing service access in remote regions, reflect Musandam’s push for integrated development. Regional Director of Nama Electricity Distribution Company in Musandam, Eng. Mohammed bin Yousef Al Shehhi, announced the successful completion of these projects, which include installations in the villages of Ghasah Al Bahriya, Al Sadwin, and other mountainous communities.

Key projects include a newly extended 11-kilovolt overhead line connecting Ghasah Al Bahriya in Khasab, covering 4.5 kilometers of rugged mountainous terrain at a cost of RO 383,000. In Al Sadwin, an 11-kilovolt overhead line was constructed at a cost of RO 521,000 to power the community in Dibba. Additionally, a project linking Wadi Banah to Aqabat in Khasab was completed over 5 kilometers at a cost of RO 184,000.
With challenging conditions requiring helicopters and marine transport, Nama successfully navigated mountain paths to install over 20 kilometers of power lines. These three major projects are set to provide reverse electricity feeds, enhancing reliability for coastal and mountainous villages between Dibba and Khasab.
