MUSCAT : His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas highlighted the critical role of sectoral committees in advancing the Chamber’s goals to enhance Oman’s business environment and drive the private sector’s contributions. “The sectoral committees play a fundamental role in implementing the Chamber’s strategic directions aimed at improving the business environment. They also enhance communication and partnership between the public and private sectors and contribute to crystallizing the private sector’s visions aimed at developing the economic and commercial aspect and supporting small and medium enterprises in a way that enables the private sector to play its role in leading a competitive economy,” he said, underlining the Chamber’s commitment to aligning with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the sectoral committees’ progress, their impact on the Chamber’s strategic direction, and their ability to meet private sector aspirations. A key focus was on identifying and addressing the challenges facing Omani businesses, such as low demand. The committees presented initiatives aimed at boosting demand, encouraging innovation, and supporting the creation of locally produced goods.
Participants also examined the National Program for Investment and Export Development (Nazdaher) and discussed ways to support entrepreneurs and startups in various economic sectors.
