MUSCAT : This infrastructure project, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, covers essential developments in Al Dhahirah Governorate. It includes a 14.8-km one-way main road, a 2-km two-way road, and multiple roundabouts—two on the national road and five on the main road—complete with entrances, sidewalks, rainwater drainage, and protective works. Additional features include parking, traffic signs, and road markings.
A key part of the tender is constructing a 6.3-km-long valley channel, 250 meters wide, designed to protect against valley flooding risks. This includes levelling, dam construction, and box channels crossing the national road, as well as restoring and paving parts of the national road. The project also prioritizes safeguarding the existing gas pipeline in alignment with approved plans.
Omani and Saudi firms are encouraged to submit bids through the “Isnad” platform by January 2, 2025. The Authority’s Director of the Al Dhahirah Integrated Economic Zone Project, Eng. Ibrahim bin Yousef Al Zadjali, highlighted the project’s significance in boosting Oman-Saudi trade via the Rub’ Al Khali Port, underscoring its strategic position as a gateway for economic growth.
