MUSCAT : The launch will take place from the Etlaq Spaceport in Oman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the National Space Program, the Civil Aviation Authority, NASCOM, and other institutional stakeholders.
The Ministry, through its National Space Program, has congratulated Etlaq on its significant progress in the Omani space sector. This recognition comes in light of Etlaq’s announcement regarding the country’s first space rocket launch, scheduled to take place from Etlaq Spaceport in December 2024.
In a statement referencing news articles published on October 2nd, Etlaq clarified details surrounding the launch of an experimental launch vehicle. “Etlaq would like to confirm that, in accordance with local regulations and international safety standards, we are supporting the launch of an experimental launch vehicle before the end of 2024,” it stated.
“We regret to inform you that this launch will not be a publicly accessible event. We understand that there may be interest to know more about this national milestone; however, for now we plan to share more information after launch. We thank and appreciate your interest,” it added.
