Muscat: Oman delivered a dominant performance in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kuwait, securing a resounding 4-0 victory.

Abdul Rahman Al Mushaifri opened the scoring for Oman in the 16th minute with a clinical finish, assisted by a series of impressive passes from his teammates.

Mohsen Al Ghassani doubled Oman’s advantage just 14 minutes later with a well-placed header that caught the Kuwaiti defense off guard.

Throughout the first half, Oman controlled the tempo of the match, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Kuwait struggled to find their rhythm and rarely threatened the Oman goal.

The second half saw Oman maintain their momentum, and Al Mushaifri struck again in the 59th minute and a 4th goal from Abdullah Fawaz in the 78th minute, putting the game beyond Kuwait’s reach with a clinical finish. Despite Kuwait’s attempts to fight back with chances from their captain in the penalty box, Oman’s sharp defensive recoveries kept them at bay.

With this commanding victory, Oman have taken a significant step towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Coach Rasheed Jaber and his team will be hoping to maintain their momentum and continue their impressive form in the upcoming matches with their next match against Jordan on October 15th.
