Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued the Royal Decree No. 38/2024 recently, granting Her Excellency an official the rank of ‘Ambassador’ and appointing her as the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the UNESCO.

A seasoned professional with a wealth of experience, Ambassador Al Balushi has held various key positions within the Omani education and culture sectors. Her career has spanned from teaching English to serving as a national coordinator for UNESCO-affiliated Omani schools.

Internationally, Ambassador Al Balushi has been a prominent figure, participating in numerous national and international councils and committees. She has held leadership roles in organizations such as the Arab League of Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

Her expertise extends to sustainable development and human rights, as evidenced by her involvement in developing national and international strategies and reports. Ambassador Al Balushi has also played a crucial role in fostering educational collaborations between Oman and other countries.
