Muscat – H.E. Omar Hamdan Al Ismaili, CEO of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), launched the new Telecommunications Licensing Management System, yesterday, September 24.
The TRA stated that the new electronic system offers a comprehensive suite of services, including electronic submission, follow-up, and decision-making on applications. It aims to simplify procedures, allowing users to submit, track, and finalize applications entirely online.
The system is designed to enhance cooperation among various regulatory authorities, including the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.
It to facilitate the application process, ensuring that policies and procedures are accurately implemented. The system provides technical and technological support to ensure a quick response.
Objectives of the new system are as follows:
• Simplify procedures and speed up the processing of requests
• Provide clear information about the required documents
• Document processes related to managing licenses and permits
• Facilitate the application submission and follow-up process
• Provide professional and technical support to ensure a quick and effective response
• Ensure that policies and procedures are accurately applied and the roles of all parties are clarified.
It is pertinent to note that the system was developed internally by national cadres, which reflects the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s keenness to empower the youth and create a stimulating environment for improvement, and support initiatives.
