Muscat – This initiative, aimed at improving security measures and facilitating efficient access to the port, is designed to save time and adapt to technological advancements in line with global trends.
The project introduces an electronic gate pass system, enhancing the portals of Sohar Port and Freezone. With the implementation of a quick response (QR) code system, individuals can now enter through the gates using their smartphones, streamlining the entry process.

In addition to enhancing convenience, the QR code project promotes environmental sustainability by reducing paper consumption and adopting an eco-friendly approach. It also optimizes data tracking and analysis, strengthening safety protocols and bolstering resistance against fraud compared to traditional paper permits.
This is crucial in preventing unauthorized entry to the port. The Smart Access Project represents a significant step forward in ensuring robust security while facilitating the smooth flow of vehicles and individuals at Sohar Port and Freezone.
