Muscat: The issue arose after a municipality reported that some products from a national company were found to contain higher levels of bromate than permitted by Gulf standards.

The Center confirmed that the circular pertains only to operational non-compliance, not bottled water products. The Center emphasized that the situation is being managed based on its risk assessment protocols. Depending on the severity of the non-conformance, measures such as warnings, product recalls, or even factory shutdowns could be taken.

The Center reassures consumers that it continuously monitors food products in cooperation with regulatory authorities, ensuring public health and safety. The public is advised to follow official channels for accurate updates and contact the Center or local municipalities for any concerns.
