Muscat – As per the set parameters, the programme, structured to provide monthly financial support to families with lower incomes and fewer opportunities to earn, stipulates eligibility criteria under three categories – family, women-run households and cases under family law.
The family segment covers the husband, wife, non-working children (0-26), non-working daughters (0-40) if unmarried or divorced and have no children, and foster children.
The women-run households includes the following:
• A divorced woman who has no children and is 40 years of age or older.
• Unmarried woman aged 40 years and over.
• A widow.
• Widow with her children (sons and daughters).
• Divorced woman with children.
• A woman who has children (sons and daughters) in her custody from different husbands has sons and daughters from each father counted as a separate family.
Cases considered as family include:
- Siblings (sons and daughters) who have lost their parents and are under 18 years old.
- Any son or daughter who has lost their parents and is over 18 years old.
- Orphans.
- Siblings (sons and daughters) who are under the guardianship or care of someone other than their parents.
