MUSCAT : Dhofar Islamic, the Islamic Banking Window of BankDhofar, announced the launch of “Dhofar Islamic- Pay”, an innovative service and the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman that allows customers to pay via smartphones easily and safely. They can swipe a mobile phone that runs on the Android system and supports Near Field Communication (NC) technology and conduct their banking transactions quickly and comfortably without the need to use a regular debit card.
Dhofar Islamic-Pay service allows users to securely add their existing debit card details to their Android mobile phones. Once set up, the mobile phone becomes a digital card, allowing the customer to easily conduct payment transactions by simply swiping the phone over the point-of-sale devices. This eliminates the need to carry physical cards, providing a seamless payment experience for customers.
