Alizz Islamic Bank hosts delegation from All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema – Sri Lanka

During the visit growth and development of Islamic banking in both countries were discussed as well as current developments. In addition promotion of Islamic values as a lifestyle was also highlighted.

MUSCAT : Alizz Islamic Bank recently hosted a delegation from the organization of Muslim Scholars in Sri Lanka who were on a visit to the Sultanate on the invitation of the Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry. 

The delegation lead by Sheikh Mufti Mohamed Ibrahim Mohammed Rizwe, chairman of All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema – Sri Lanka was received by senior officials of the Bank headed by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Asaad Al Kharusi. During the visit growth and development of Islamic banking in both countries were discussed as well as current developments. In addition promotion of Islamic values as a lifestyle was also highlighted.

All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) is the supreme body of Islamic theologian in Sri Lanka. The objectives of the ACJU are to serve the Muslim Community and the nation. At present ACJU has 163 Branches in 24 districts in Sri Lanka and over 8000 Scholars as subscribed Members.

On this occasion, Mr. Issa Al Riyami Head of Shari’a Compliance and Audit of Alizz Islamic Bank, said: “Being one of the first dedicated Islamic bank in Oman and since we tend to focus on sharing knowledge and experiences to support the development of Islamic Banking both locally and globally; it was an honour for us to welcome the delegation in our head office to reflect our shared core values.”
