NEW YORK: The Global Innovation Institute’s commendation specifically lauded Oman’s strides in advancing institutional innovation within the government sector. This recognition stems from Oman’s ambitious initiative, led by the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, to develop a comprehensive guide for institutional innovation across more than 44 government institutions. By following the model set by the Global Innovation Institute, Oman has emerged as the first country in the Middle East and North Africa region to implement such a unified guide.
The overarching objective of this project is to foster collaboration among various sectors, aligning efforts towards innovation-driven development in line with the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. Key focus areas of the project include harmonizing innovation strategies, organizing innovation-related efforts, and enhancing competencies crucial for innovation.
Since its launch in December 2023, the project has made significant strides in engaging government institutions across different governorates. Through extensive discussion sessions and visits to various regions, the project team has ensured alignment with the project’s vision and goals, ensuring widespread participation and coherence in innovation efforts at all levels.
