Oman LNG inks deal with BOTAS for long-term LNG supply

Oman LNG sealed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation, securing the offtake of 1 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of LNG for a decade starting from 2025.

Muscat: Oman LNG revealed the successful finalization of a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation, marking a pivotal moment in the energy industry landscape. The agreement spans over 10 years, starting in 2025, and entails the supply of 1 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of LNG from Oman LNG to BOTAS.

Commenting on this agreement, Hamed Mohammed Al Nu’amani, CEO of Oman LNG- said: “The Sales and Purchase Agreement with BOTAS enhance our access to a new market through the offtake of 1 Million tonnes of LNG per annum from Oman. Additionally, it strengthen our portfolio through Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) contracts to strategic partner located in Eurasia being a growing market”.

This partnership is significant not only for Oman LNG but also for Türkiye, which plays a crucial role as a conduit for energy resources to Central and Eastern Europe. With Türkiye’s well-established infrastructure and extensive pipeline network, it is a pivotal energy hub bridging Europe and Asia.

The agreement underscores Oman LNG’s commitment to adaptability in navigating the evolving energy landscape, solidifying its reputation as a dependable supplier capable of meeting the diverse needs of global markets. It also reflects the company’s strategic vision to forge enduring partnerships that drive sustainable growth and contribute to the energy security of nations worldwide.
