MUSCAT : According to recent fiscal data released by the authorities, the state’s public revenues surged to around RO 1 billion and 14 million by the close of January 2024. This represents a commendable increase compared to 2023, highlighting sustained economic momentum and revenue diversification efforts.
In tandem with the revenue boost, public spending also experienced a notable uptick, reaching approximately RO 929 million as of January 2024. This signifies a significant increase of RO 92 million, or 11 per cent, over the actual expenditure recorded during the same period in 2023.
Remarkably, Oman’s general budget achieved a surplus by the end of January 2024, amounting to approximately RO 85 million.
