MUSCAT : As per online reports on the subject, concrete plans are, however, yet to materialize following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The ‘Invest in Oman’ event in Muscat saw officials engage in fruitful dialogues with representatives from the Adani Group, further solidifying the mutual interest in the project. These discussions extended to on-site visits, including explorations of Adani’s Indian headquarters and the Duqm port site in Oman.

Saleh Hamood Al Hasani, advisor to the Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), emphasized Oman’s optimism toward Adani Group investments, reaffirming the country’s commitment to fostering partnerships for economic development.

While detailing the progress made during the ‘Invest in Oman’ event, Al Hasani highlighted the collaborative efforts, and is reported to have said, “An Omani delegation has visited the Adani office in India for detailed discussions for port development. A delegation from the Oman side also visited the Adani headquarters.”

Addressing potential obstacles, Al Hasani underscored Oman’s proactive approach to attracting development opportunities, stating, “The deal with Adani is open, and we do not close any doors with anyone. We are here to explore opportunities to bring more development from different countries.”

Highlighting the significance of the Indo-Omani partnership, he pointed out that India is a strong partner. “We are still interested and hope that the Adani management will take a decision and hopefully, we will be able to put things together,” he stated.
