Let me first define what is ‘Oman Vision 2040’. It is a comprehensive national strategic plan devised by the government of Oman that outlines national long-term objectives targeting economic diversification, development of infrastructure at large, fostering sustainable growth, and enhancing social and education development by preserving Oman’s culture and heritage.
The central theme of the Vision is sustainable growth, which is a commitment to economic transformation, enhancing the livelihood of the citizens, reducing dependency on the revenues which are solely generated by the oil sector.
The Vision is planned to target innovative structures and policies, focus on a conducive business system, and an internationally benchmarked standard education system. It is worth pointing out that the Vision developed a sub-strategy known as a national strategy of education.
Human capital development and empowerment aims to equip the workforce with the required skills and expertise for future employment opportunities therefore the Vision, particularly, aims to foster education at all levels, vocational training, and sustainable persistent research centers to train the workforce, promote up to date and innovative approach towards economic sustainability.
Oman Vision 2040 aims to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity, outlining a detailed roadmap Sultanate’s future. The comprehensive road map is rooted in leading the nation toward a new economic diversification and sustainable social and environmental development, while embracing innovative technologies in business, and education, thereby empowering the nation, and fostering entrepreneurial activities.
Additionally, when it comes to development, education plays a significant role; therefore education stewardship lies at the heart of the Vision. Recognizing the striving progress, the Vision has developed a sub-strategy called national strategy of education. This strategy aims to improve educational outcomes at all levels, promote inclusivity, and foster innovation and research.
Conclusively, Oman is committed to improve all its sectors through diverse plan ‘Oman Vision 2040’, which is dedicated to empowering citizens and securing a bright future.
