MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday granted the Royal Commendation Order (Second Class) to racing legend Ahmad Al Harthy.
Ahmad who is Oman’s first circuit racer started the sport at the age of seven. His first major record was in 2009 when he became runner-up in the Formula Renault BARC championship in the UK.
The medal was handed over by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court.

It is worth noting that Ahmad Al Harthy was the recipient of the prestigious TAS ICON award twice.
