Muscat: The two-day Forum under the slogan ‘Duqm Leads Change’ will introduce the economic environment and investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman in general and the Economic Zone in particular.

Over two days, the Forum will discuss new trends in green economy and renewable energy sector and the most prominent projects attracted by SEZAD as an industrial and investment center and a gateway to international trade. It will focus on the role played by the region in the transition to the uses of renewable energy and technology for production and export.

The forum will also discuss issues related to investment in green industries and the opportunities available to small and medium enterprises, with the broad participation of local and international companies that will showcase their capabilities and expertise in various economic sectors, especially in the field of the green economy.

Organized by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) the first Duqm Economic Forum explores the dynamic partnership possibilities and showcases the green investment opportunities of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).The panels in this premier two-day business event reflect SEZAD’s role as an economic change leader and industrial powerhouse. And firmly future-focused, the one-on-one Duqm Dialogues give insights into the innovation, technology, and talent that energize SEZAD’s ambitions and fuel its success.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Dr. Ali Al Sunaidy, Chairman of OPAZ, explained that the forum aims to attract more large multinational projects, especially in modern production methods based on renewable energy, and to find common grounds to localize quality projects that provide raw materials.

He pointed out that the government has allocated thousands of kilometers of flat land for renewable energy projects in hydrogen production, most of which are in the Al Wusta Governorate, adjacent to the Duqm Special Economic Zone. It can be easily linked with the storage and the export site for liquid materials at the Port of Duqm or through the storage and export sites at Ras Markaz.
