MUSCAT : CITIZEN will launch eight new models from its CITIZEN L brand of environmentally-conscious, sustainable  watches with designs inspired by May bells, flowers symbolizing happiness and the arrival of spring.

CITIZEN L/ EM1060-87N 

The gently curving lines of the case combine with lustrous mother-of-pearl dial, inspired by the delicate  beauty of May bells. A diamond at the 8 o’clock position brings to mind a single glistening raindrop on one of  the plant’s bell-shaped flowers, and the limpid blue crown provides a stylish accent. 

The EM1060-87N, EM1063-89D, and EM1062-57D models also have four diamonds at the 3 o’clock  position on the case, giving the watches a glamorous, jewelry-like look. 

Just like the flowers that are their inspiration, each model evokes feelings of joy and happiness every time you  look at your wrist. 

Since 2016, CITIZEN L has continued to provide sustainable watches with elegant designs that reflect the  beauty of our planet while upholding the brand’s commitment to caring for both people and the  environment. All models are equipped with light-powered Eco-Drive^*1, eliminating the need for regular  battery changes, and reducing the environmental impact caused by waste batteries. CITIZEN L models use  sustainable materials wherever possible as part of the brand’s efforts to produce sustainable watches that  incorporate care for people and the planet.

■ Feel happiness with designs inspired by May bells  

– Gently curving lines of the case inspired by delicate May bells blooms – Three models (EM1060-87N, EM1063-89D, and EM1062-57D) feature four diamonds at the 3 o’clock position on the case for a gorgeous, jewelry-like look.

– The pattern on the mother-of-pearl dial is inspired by delicate May bells, and the diamond and precision cut  accent at the 8 o’clock position brings to mind a single glistening raindrop on one of the plant’s bell-shaped  flowers. 

– Stylish limpid blue crown. 

■ All models feature low environmental impact materials  

– Straps are made from sustainable materials including environmentally-friendly apple leather*²(EM1073-18D)  and ECOPET*³(EM1074-15D) 

Apple leather: An upcycled, environmentally-friendly material made from apple peels and other materials that  would otherwise be thrown away. Soft apple leather provides a wonderfully comfortable fit on the wrist. ECOPET: ECOPET is created by melting down used PET bottles and utilizing material recycling technologies to  create recycled polyester fabric that is soft and flexible. 

– The base of the dial is made from 100% recycled polycarbonate. 

■ Light-powered Eco-Drive  

All models are equipped with CITIZEN’s proprietary light-powered Eco-Drive technology that transforms  sunlight and artificial light into energy to power the watch. CITIZEN Eco-Drive watches can run for over six  months on a full charge. Power is stored in a secondary battery, eliminating the need for regular battery  changes, and reducing the number of used batteries that are thrown away. 

■ Collaboration between CITIZEN L and Salt Payatas – hand-embroidered pouch  

Salt Payatas Foundation, a non-profit organisation,  

through its flagship program Likha Pangkabuyahan,  

provides women in Payatas (formerly the largest  

dumpsite in the Philippines) with the opportunity to  

earn a living by making and selling embroidery products  

rather than collecting garbage. CITIZEN and Salt Payatas,  

both organisations which are focused on working  

towards a happier world, collaborated to make this  

pouch. The goal is to enable women to earn a stable  

income in a safe environment while acquiring skills and self-confidence. A share of the profits goes to  maintaining libraries, providing livelihood opportunities to mothers, educational support for children, and  upcoming new projects. Each individually handsewn by the women of Payatas, these pouches are an  expression of our desire for you to be truly happy by sharing love and joy with the people who matter most in  your life.
