MUSCAT : The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced the installation of electric car charging stations spread all across Oman, as part of its keenness to adopt modern technologies and reduce carbon emissions. According to the Ministry, the charging stations will cover 90 locations along the roads of the Sultanate, including 49 stations in the Governorate of Muscat alone – distributed among Bausher (18 stations), Muscat (2 stations), Muttrah (6 stations), and Seeb (22 stations).
Similarly, North Al Batinah Governorate will have 10 stations, Al Dakhiliyah will have 8 stations, and Dhofar will have 12 charging stations. The governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, and South Al Sharqiyah will have one charging station each.
