Muscat – As per the initial figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the highest inflation rate of 1.6 percent was recorded in Al Buraimi Governorate and the lowest (0.3 percent) was recorded in the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiya.
The most prominent indicators of inflation in May were milk, cheese and eggs at 9.6 percent, followed by oils and fats (5.8 percent), fish and seafood (4.6 percent) and non-alcoholic drinks (4.4 percent).
