Muscat: Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi, Director General of Raysut Industrial City, told Oman News Agency that the projects in the industrial city vary in terms of activities; however, industrial projects account for the largest proportion with 192 projects.
He indicated that the total numbers of workers in the Industrial City reached 4156, of which 1563 are citizens, achieving an Omanisation rate of 38 percent.

He explained that the City is witnessing an active investment movement during the current period, as the Salalah Steel Industries Company began experimental production with an investment size of OMR 12 million; official opening of the factory will take place during the coming period.
He attributed this growth to the completion of infrastructure services, administrative and technical services, strategic location of the Industrial City and its proximity to Salalah Port, which enhances import and export opportunities. The proximity of the city to Salalah Airport, with the availability of flexible logistical services, contribute to enhancing the attraction of investment opportunities, which is further boosted by the Yemeni market, which is about 300kms away.
