UTSC honours Oman Hockey Association Chairman

MUSCAT – United Thalasserry Sports Club (UTSC) recently held an iftar gathering at Hotel Haffa House in Ruwi, where the community came together to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. The event was attended by several Oman Hockey Association (OHA) officials, prominent business people, and members of the community.

One of the highlights of the evening was the honouring of Dr Marwan Juma Al Jama, Chairman of the Oman Hockey Association, for his appointment as Vice Chairman of the Asian Hockey Federation. Anoop Bijli, Second Secretary of the Embassy of India, and Lijihas Ussain of UTSC presented Dr Marwan with a plaque to commemorate his achievement.

Speaking at the event, Anoop Bijli said, “It is an honour to be here to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and to recognize the achievements of Dr Marwan Juma Al Jama. His appointment as Vice Chairman of the Asian Hockey Federation is a testament to his dedication and hard work, and we congratulate him on this achievement.
Lijihas Ussain on behalf of UTSC added, “Dr Marwan is a true inspiration to all of us, and we are proud to honour him for his accomplishments. We hope that his success will inspire others to strive for excellence in their own pursuits.”

Dr Marwan expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I am humbled and honoured to receive this recognition. This appointment is not just a personal achievement, but a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Oman Hockey Association. I look forward to working with the Asian Hockey Federation to promote Hockey and bring it to new heights.”

UTSC honoured Manha Mariyam also for her outstanding achievement in the CBSE National Athletic Meet held in India. Manha Mariyam, a student of ISM, hailing from Tellicherry won a gold medal in the 4x100m relay.

Her achievements have brought great pride to the Tellicherry community & UTSC, and she was honoured for her dedication and hard work at the same event.

Manha and her parents expressed their gratitude for the recognition, saying that it has inspired her to continue pursuing excellence in athletics and academics. The UTSC community congratulates Manha on her outstanding achievements and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
The evening was a great success, with attendees enjoying a delicious iftar meal and engaging in meaningful conversations.

The UTSC club looks forward to continuing the tradition of coming together during Ramadan to celebrate and honour those who have achieved great success.
United Tellicherry Sports Club ( UTSC ) is a club based out of Tellicherry, India. It has been the pivot and backbone of many sporting activities in India and now has a significant presence across the middle east, having spread its wings to Oman, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
