MUSCAT: The Fifth International Scientific Conference of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, titled ‘Language and Literature in Oman in Fifty Years’, will start on Monday at the Conference Hall of the Sultan Qaboos University. The Conference will last for 3 days, and will feature 37 working papers from participants within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The Conference will focus on the linguistic and literary products that are at this defining stage in the history of Omani culture. The Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University aspires to make a significant contribution to clarifying the status of language and literature, through submitted research, so as to achieve the desired goals by presenting serious scientific studies dealing with language and literature in Oman during the fifty years, spanning from 1970 to 2020.
